# Do warmup emails count toward sending limits?

> Warmup messages are separate from your cold-email cap. EmailPal's 40/day plan limit and 15/day pre-warmed limit count campaign mail, not the warming conversations running in the background.

## Campaign mail vs warmup mail

EmailPal tracks two kinds of send:

- **Cold / campaign email** — the mail you send to prospects. This is capped at 40 per day on a plan mailbox and 15 per day on a pre-warmed lease.
- **Warmup email** — the conversations with Gmail, Yahoo and AOL seed accounts. This is the $0.60/mo product (included on pre-warmed leases).

Warmup does **not** eat the campaign cap. If you send 40 cold emails on a campaign-ready plan mailbox, warming can still run the same day.

See [Sending limits per mailbox](/help/sending-limits-per-mailbox).

## Why the numbers on the warming dashboard look higher

The warming row shows messages sent *and* received. Replies from seed accounts inflate the received count. That is not extra campaign volume.

## Pre-warmed leases

Warming stays on after you claim. Those warmup messages still do not count against the 15 cold emails per day.

## FAQs

### If warmup is free to the cap, can I just send more warmup instead of warming slowly?

No. The ramp, throttling and weekend behavior are controlled by EmailPal. You cannot turn warmup into a blast.

### Do warmup bounces count as campaign bounces?

A warmup bounce can still [disable warming](/help/warmup-bounce-and-disabled-warmup). Treat it as a health signal, not as a consumed send.
