# Export mailbox credentials

## How to export

Dashboard: **Mailboxes** → export. API: the mailboxes export endpoint. You get a file with addresses and passwords.

The download link expires on purpose. A permanent URL full of SMTP passwords is an incident waiting to be copied into Slack.

## FAQs

### Why aren't passwords on GET /mailboxes?

So a leaked read-only API key cannot empty the fleet. Export is the explicit, auditable path.

### Pre-warmed passwords?

Same export, after the claim job has rotated them. The public pre-warmed catalog never includes passwords.
