# Remove yourself or report a lead record

> How to ask to be removed from EmailPal's lead table (a person with an email confirmation, a company with a DNS record), how a customer reports a wrong, bounced or do-not-contact record, what a report does immediately, and what removal does not undo.

## If you are the person in a record

If your business details appear in Prospects and you do not want them to, go to the public page [Remove yourself from the lead table](/legal/lead-removal).

1. Enter your work email address. LinkedIn is optional. One address at a time.
2. We send a one-time confirmation link to that address. Nothing is removed until you open it and confirm, which is how we know the address is yours.
3. When you confirm, you are removed from the lead table and the address is added to our platform-wide suppression list, so no customer can email it through our infrastructure.

You get the same message whether or not your address is in our data, so the page never confirms who is in it. We keep one-way (keyed hash) records of what you gave us, so that you are not shown again.

## If you speak for a company

A company can have a domain it controls removed. The page gives you a DNS TXT record to publish for the domain. When we find the record, everyone at that domain is hidden from the lead table. A domain that covers a large part of the table is confirmed by a person on our team first.

## Bulk requests and anything else

Bulk requests, requests from counsel or agencies, and anything the page cannot handle go to [privacy@emailpal.io](mailto:privacy@emailpal.io). A person reviews them. There is no public bulk upload.

## What removal does not do

Removal hides you in the EmailPal lead table. It does not change the records held by our data provider, and it does not erase copies a customer exported earlier. If a customer already holds your details, contact that customer. [Privacy policy](/legal/privacy)

## If you are a customer and want to report a record

In the Prospects people table, a paid account sees a flag at the end of each row. Choose **Report this record** and pick a reason:

- **The data is wrong.**
- **They asked not to be contacted.**
- **The email bounced.**

What happens next:

- The record is hidden for your workspace right away, and the row disappears from your table. Nobody else's table changes.
- It becomes a removal for everyone only after review: for example the person confirms, a hard bounce is confirmed, our team approves it, or several unrelated workspaces report the same person. One customer's report on its own never removes someone from other customers' view.
- Reports are for genuine problems. Reporting at scale to hide records is treated as abuse of the feature.

The REST API can file the same report for one record with `POST /api/public/v1/lead-records/{id}/report`, using the record id from the table. It hides the record for your account only, and there is no bulk form.

If someone replies to a campaign asking you to stop, label the reply in the Unibox so the blocklist rules apply, and report the record too. [The global blocklist and unsubscribes](/help/blocklist-and-unsubscribes)

## FAQs

### Why does the page not say whether I am in the data?

So the form cannot be used to look people up. You get the same message either way.

### How long does a removal take?

An email removal takes effect when you confirm from the link. A company domain is removed when its DNS record is found, or when our team confirms it for a large domain.

### I reported a record and it vanished. Can I get it back?

Reporting hides it for your workspace. If it was a mistake, open a ticket.

### Someone I already emailed asked to be removed. What now?

Add them to your blocklist and report the record. Do not email them again. [Acceptable use](/help/acceptable-use)
