# Secondary sending domains for cold email

> Send cold email from domains you own that are not your primary company website. EmailPal will register or host those secondary domains, authenticate them, and warm the mailboxes so a bounce storm does not take down acme.com.

## Why not send from the company domain?

If outreach goes badly, you want acme.com's transactional mail (password resets, customer support) to keep landing. A secondary domain — acmehq.com, tryacme.com, getacme.com — takes the reputation risk.

That is standard cold-email hygiene, not an EmailPal invention.

## How many domains?

Enough that no mailbox is blasting. Practical pattern:

- 2–5 mailboxes per domain
- 40 cold emails/day per plan mailbox once campaign-ready, 15 on pre-warmed
- More volume = more domains, not more mailboxes crammed onto one name

## FAQs

### Should the secondary domain redirect to my site?

A simple HTTPS redirect on the apex is fine. Do not host a thin doorway full of the same copy you put in the email.

### Can I use a subdomain like outreach.acme.com?

You can, but a subdomain often inherits pain from the parent and still risks the brand. A separate registered domain is cleaner.
