Prospects and lead data
Prospects: search for people and reveal business emails
Prospects is EmailPal's lead search. Find people and companies in the United States with filters or a sentence, reveal their business emails, and send them to a list or a campaign. Unlimited free leads on every paid plan, with a first-page preview before you subscribe.
What Prospects is
Prospects is the lead search built into EmailPal. It sits in the sidebar under Outreach, next to Unibox, Engage and CRM, at /prospects. You describe who you want to reach, and it returns people (or companies) with their job title, company, location and, on a paid plan, their business email, phone number and LinkedIn profile.
The contact data comes from a third-party data provider and covers the United States only. See Lead data accuracy and verifying before you send and Prospects coverage and acceptable use.
Prospects is part of the plan you already pay for: unlimited free leads, with no credits and no charge per lead. For a quick tour of the flow from search to send, see how unlimited free leads work.
Search for people
The Search tab has three ways to start:
- Describe who you want. Type it the way you would say it, for example "VPs of sales at software companies with 50 to 200 employees". EmailPal turns the sentence into filters. The filters land in the panel, where you can adjust them before or after you search. If a part of the sentence cannot be used, a note under the bar says what was left out.
- Start from filters. Pick a title, seniority, function, industry, company size, city and more. The groups are Person, Company, Location, Size and age and Keywords. The exact set depends on the data source; a filter the data cannot honour is listed as ignored instead of silently dropped.
- Find a person. Enter a name and a company name or domain. EmailPal looks through that company's people for the name. It does not guess addresses: a match is revealed like any other row. If the button is missing, finding a person is not available right now.
Each filter you set appears as a chip above the table, and you can remove a chip with its x. On a paid plan the search updates a moment after you stop editing. Choose Search to run it at once.
The People and Companies switch changes what you search for. A company search has no emails; choose See people on a company to search its people.
Under Addresses to include (people search) two boxes are off by default:
- Catch-all domains. These accept any address, so some will bounce.
- Untested addresses. Not checked yet, so expect a higher bounce rate.
Reveal emails
On a paid plan there is no reveal button and no credit to spend. As rows come into view, EmailPal reveals their email, phone number and LinkedIn link, and a few rows below them so values are already there when you scroll. A shimmer means the value is loading.
A reveal cell ends in one of these states:
- An email address. A badge such as catch-all or untested tells you what the data source knows about it.
- No email found. The data source has nothing for that person.
- Not available. The record cannot be shown to your workspace. No reason is given.
- Refresh results. The result is out of date. Choose it to run the search again.
- Retry. The lookup failed for that row. Choose it to try again.
Revealing does not save anything. Values are held in your browser's memory for the search on screen and are gone when you leave the page or start a new search. They are kept only when you add people to a list or a campaign. Add prospects to lists and campaigns
Requests are rate limited per minute. If a table says search is busy or that you are revealing too quickly, wait a moment. It retries on its own, and you do not lose your place.
Save and reuse searches
Choose Save search to keep the filters (not the results) under a name, and Saved to open or delete them. Saved and recent searches also appear on the start screen. Run one again whenever you like and you get fresh rows.
The shortcuts list under the keyboard icon (or ?) shows keys for moving between rows, selecting a row and focusing the search box.
What a free account sees
Before you subscribe, search still works. You see the first page of each search with names, titles, companies and locations. Emails, phone numbers and LinkedIn profiles show Subscribe to see, and you cannot select people, make lists or add anyone to a campaign. A plan unlocks the rest. FAQs
Where is Prospects in the app?
In the sidebar under Outreach, or at /prospects.
Do I pay per lead or per reveal?
No. Unlimited free leads means no credits and no per-lead charge on a paid plan.
Can I search outside the United States?
No. Prospects covers the United States only. A place elsewhere in a sentence is left out of the search.
Why does a row show Not available?
The record cannot be shown to your workspace, for example because it was reported here or the person or company has been removed. We do not say which, because that would tell you who asked to be removed.
Does Prospects sync with HubSpot or Salesforce?
Not natively. Export a list as a CSV, or add people to a campaign, which saves them to the EmailPal CRM. Add prospects to lists and campaigns
